It all started when…
I earned my M.S. in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy from Fresno State in 2014. I was selected to assist a nationally renowned expert in play therapy with their clinical research during my graduate school internship and was mentored by a member of the CAMFT Ethics Committee. These early opportunities cemented in me a passion for attachment and healing one’s inner child and helped to develop the ethical reverence I treat all clients. Throughout the 7+ years I have provided mental health treatment, I have specialized in trauma and attachment disorders throughout the lifespan. For five years I provided community based therapeutic care with Wraparound, Katie A services and outpatient services at a non-profit before earning my license and joining Being Integrative Clinical Solution, LLC.
I have spent significant time engaged in additional training to best treat clients. I consider my practice an ongoing set of skills to be honed; most recently I trained in EMDR and I look forward to my future pursuing training in Yoga Nidra and child focused yoga. I treat both children, 6-18 years and adults with individual, group and family therapy. I have extensive experience addressing trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attachment disorders, adjustment disorders, and ADHD. I also have experience providing non-traditional family therapy, such as co-parenting support and child/parent play therapy services.
For special populations, I have experience working with transgender children under 10 years, sexually abused children 6-15, military culture/dependents, and those throughout the lifespan who are or have been involved with the DCFS system. To me being a therapist is my purpose and not a job. I believe fully in the healing possibilities of therapy and find this unshakable belief positively impacts my client’s self-efficacy towards their desired change. I can imagine no other path for myself then being a therapist where I have the opportunity to learn, grow, and heal and remain in gratitude to have found my purpose.
My personal interests revolve around self-care and well-being. I am a huge Brené Brown fan and take any opportunity I can to introduce shame resiliency to people, both personally and professionally. I find vulnerability precious and meaningful; I appreciate it in all those I encounter and enjoy meeting vulnerability with empathy. Reading, sunshine, meditation, yoga, plants, and my fur children are some of my favorite coping skills.
